Engr. Flora Omolara Olumakin is an Engineer with over 2 decades of work experience in the Aviation Industry. She became the first female Engineer, Head of Department in her Organization. She is passionate about the African girl-child to flourish as an Independent Thinker.
She is a strong advocate for mentoring African girl-children in the pursuit of a career in science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) which is presumably a field dominated by men.
Her mission is to groom a new generation of African girl-children to become Innovators & Researchers through STEM HUB. Empowering them to break barriers through mentorship.
Engr. Flora through her foundation, FLORA OLUMAKIN FOUNDATION (FOF) has visited many primary and secondary schools in Nigeria to teach girl-children about taking a career in STEM( Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics).
Her foundation, FLORA OLUMAKIN FOUNDATION (FOF), was founded on the 25th of June, 2017 and the impact of her work is being felt at the grassroots. She believes that it is important to train the girl-child to be the best; this is what she has been committed to doing in the last few years through her foundation.
Engr. Flora believes that the culture of giving preference to a male child over a female child is an idea that must be eliminated. Her personal experience of a girl-child struggle made her to include girl-child education and leadership development as a priority for her foundation.
